 EBSCO will continue to supply print and online journals and e-journal packages to UK’s Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium
EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO) will continue to be an approved supplier for print and online periodicals for the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC) as a result of a new Joint-consortia agreement for the provision of Serials, Periodicals and associated services. SUPC are a membership-based buying organisation for universities and further education colleges that develops and manages framework agreements. SUPC members have access to over 90 professionally tendered, EU compliant agreements.

 RLUK launches two new member networks
Research Libraries UK (RLUK) has launched two new member networks, the Collections Strategy Network and the New Directors Network at this year’s RLUK conference. Both of these new networks will address a series of challenges faced by RLUK members and will act as valuable arenas for knowledge exchange and peer support. The call to create these networks came directly from the RLUK membership and both will lead significant strands of the RLUK strategy over the coming months and years.

 Oxford University Press announces reorganisation of its leadership in Africa
Academic publisher Oxford University Press (OUP) has announced the reorganisation of its leadership in Africa to align the company to be more responsive to the growth opportunities in the region. John Mwazemba has been promoted to the role of Regional Director of Oxford University Press East Africa (OUPEA). Hanri Pieterse has also been appointed as the new MD of OUP’s business in the East and Southern Africa region excluding South Africa. Both roles are effective from April 1, 2019.

Two articles from the EDP Sciences journals EPJ Applied Physics and Mechanics & Industry have been recognised as highly cited papers on Web of Science using data from Essential Science IndicatorsSM. Only the top 1% of articles achieve this status. Essential Science IndicatorsSM, hosted on the InCites platform, collates data on highly cited papers and shares it with Web of Science from Clarivate Analytics.
